How To Generate Free Traffic to your Website

Starting a home business need not take a lot of start-up capital. Yes, we all know that it takes money to make money. But with the versatility of the internet, there are many methods, as discussed in this article, to generate traffic to your site for virtually nothing.

While there are ways to jump start your traffic flows, many sites don’t have the resources that others have to generate more traffic for your site. Well, you don’t have to spend a cent; all you need is the proper mindset and a lot of eagerness. You also must have the drive and perseverance to do hard work and research to generate more traffic for your site.

Now it’s a sure thing that many sites have articles that offer tips and guidelines in how to generate traffic using only free methods. You don’t need to spend a single cent but it may take more time, to be quite honest. You have better chances by paying for your advertisements, but at least you get a fighting chance with some of these free methods I’m about to tell you.

Take advantage of online forums. The thing about forums and online communities is that you can target a certain group that fits the certain demographic that you are looking for. You can discuss your knowledge of the niche that you represent or offer. By reading the different posts firsts, you know what you are getting into and you will be prepared.

With forums, you can build a reputation for with knowledge of a particular niche. Show them what you are made of with your range of expertise about the subject and you can build a reputation and trust with the people in your area of expertise.

Publishing a news letter is another means of free web promotion. Provide people with a catalog of your products and interesting and entertaining articles. If you write really interesting articles, more people will sign up for your newsletter and recommend it to other people. The more people who signs up for your newsletter, the more people there will be that will go to your site increasing your traffic.

You can also use these same articles and submit them to other newsletters or article submission sites. Try writing articles that will provide tips and guides to other internet marketers that would be interested in your niche or methods. Writing articles that provide good service and knowledge to other people will provide the necessary mileage your traffic flow needs.

Many sites offer free submission and posting of your articles. When people find interest in your articles they have a good chance of following the track by finding out where the article originated. Include a link or a brief description of your web site with the article and there’s a great probability that they will go to your site.

Another traffic generating idea is trading links with other sites. You don’t have to spend a cent. All you have to do is reach an agreement with another webmaster. With exchanging links, these efforts benefit both sites. Every person that goes to the site could potentially click on your link and visit your site as well. This works especially well when both sites feature the same niche.

Write good content for your site. Many search engines track down the keywords and keyword phrases your site uses and how they are used. It is not a requirement that a content should be done by a professional content writer. You could do your on but you have to make content for your site that is entertaining as well as informational. It should provide certain requirements as well as great quality.

Generally, internet users use search engines to find what they are looking for. Search engines in return use keyword searching in aiding their search results. With the right keywords, you could get high rankings in search engine results without the costs. Take advantage of free website submission services, such as stevenbrubaker.net. These types of websites will automatically submit your URL to the major search engines in exchange for additional referrals.

All of these methods will drive more traffic to your site for free. All it takes is a bit of effort and man hours. Learn all you can about these methods and you will soon have a site with a great traffic flow without investing a large sum of money.

One program I am a member of is Affiliate Cash Secrets. ACS gives you step-by-step guidance to learning theses any many other traffic generating techniques. I highly recommend, at least, taking a look at what this opportunity has to offer.

Web site Submission

What is SEO?

You have probably heard of SEO since it is a very effective form of advertising your website. For those who don’t know, it stands for Search Engine Optimization. SEO is the process of increasing the amount of visitors to your site by designing site content that rakes high with the search engines. Where your site ranks in a web search is critical to the chances that “traffic” will be directed to your site.

How do Search Engines work?

Although, each search engine uses a unique proprietary algorithm (in other words a computer program that calculates ranking of sites), they all generally follow the same method. First, a search engine will send out a “spider” to fetch as many documents as it can. Then another program reads these documents and “indexes” them based on the words they contain. Therefore, only meaningful results are returned for each keyword or words used for the search. These indexers compute the keyword density in order to establish the relevancy of your site to the keyword search. Keyword density basically refers to how often a certain word appears in any given document.

If I have an affiliate web site and have no control of my keywords, meta-tags and other site content, should I still submit my affiliate URL?

Absolutely! Chances are the web designer for your affiliate program site is much more versed in designing a web site for this purpose than your “typical” internet marketer designing their own site. Although no one really knows for sure the exact formula search engines uses to rank sites, the consensess by most internet experts is that the search engines look more for keyword content than anything else. For instance, if you are an affiliate marketer that has a web site that sells “vitamins”, chances are your affiliate site contains the word “vitamins” more than you think as it is a very important keyword relevant to your site. Therefore, if someone searches the word vitamins, your site would be included in the results of the search. The bad news is you are also competing with all other sites on the internet that contain the keyword vitamin.

Is it worth submitting my website URL to search engines?

If you are interested in another means of driving traffic to your site, then “yes”. Just think of submitting your URL to the search engines as “advertising” to the search engines. The more “visible” your site is with the search engines, the easier it is for the search engine to gather the information on your site and place you before another relevant site. This, of course, leads to a higher page ranking which gives your site a higher percentage of receiving a “hit”.

And if you find a web site that offers Free website submission, such as www.stevenbrubaker.net, why not?

YOUTUBE advertising example

So, have you ever thought about advertising on YouTube? Okay, so this video may not have been produced in a professional studio. But guess how much it is going to cost me to run my video "commercial" on YouTube? Zip, zero, nothing but about an hour of my time. The actors cost me nothing (my lovely wife and daughter). The camera man, producer, editor, well that was me. Take a look what I made up for one of my websites.

2 Principles to Apply to Achieve Success

There are two principles that, if applied, will guide you to great success, achievement and wealth. Ask any very wealthy person and they will tell you that the application of these principles helped them to success. The tools given to you with the program I am involved in are designed to give you a chance to use these two principles.

Are you ready? Are you ready to discover the millionaire's path to success?

You must do these 2 things:

# 1 - you must find a way to put yourself in a position to do the work one time and get paid over and over and over again. Learning the trade of proper media placement will help you with this.

# 2 - Find a way to contact large groups of people at one time. Again, learning to place proper media campaigns to do this is outlined and implemented in this program.

I hope you really understand these 2 principles. I mean REALLY understand the importance of applying these principles. You may want to read these again. Write them down and place them on your desk to read ever day. When you figure out how to do these 2 things consistently, you will be unstoppable!

There have been studies conducted that show that only the top 5% of people have a different mindset when they set and achieve goals. Some common things discovered are "How much can I learn and how fast? How much can I accomplish and how fast?

Although there are no short cuts to success, this program helps you achieve the results of success in a short amount of time. Everything this program offers has a purpose. Living with a purpose allows people of all backgrounds the opportunity to build a successful business.
If you think like the Donald Trumps of the world and did what they did... wouldn't you think you have a shot of experiencing the success they do?

When you are ready, this could be the BEST decision you could have ever made. I know it was for me. In just a a few days after starting with this program, you could be learning and actually sending hundreds and thousands of visitors to your site.

Consider a Web Hosting Service Offering Affiliate Commissions

If you are new to internet marketing, you will eventually need a web hosting service. Even if you do not know how to design a website, you will want to pick your own domain name to promote your business. If you joined a program that provides you with a “website” to promote, the affiliate URL is generally lengthy and looks amateurish. It is YOUR business. YOU acquired the rights to resell the website business products or services you purchased. Rename the URL to give the site YOUR own identity. To maximize your marketing and recruiting efforts, you will want to promote a professional looking domain name, not an affiliate URL for your main business or program. Most web hosting services allow you to choose and forward your domain name to another URL.

And if you are presently using a hosting service that does not offer affiliate commissions, I would strongly recommend that you switch to a hosting service that does. Many of the web hosting services will help you transfer your domain name, files, databases, etc. from your existing hosting company to theirs for little or no costs to you.

There are many web hosting services that offer affiliate programs. Two of theses companies that I would recommend looking in to are GDI and HostGator. I use both of these web hosting companies. They both offer basic web hosting and additional services such as choosing your own domain name, domain forwarding, email addresses, etc. However, one distinct difference with the affiliate commissions to note, is that GDI pays you 5 levels deep on referrals were as HostGator pays you a commission per account sign-up. This means with GDI, you get paid on your referrals, referrals and so on, up to 5 levels. (Please take the time to read each company monthly fees, services offered and commission structure, as you would do with any affiliate program you would enter).

As in any business, not just in an internet marketing business, you are looking to increase your bottom line. Your objective is to have minimal amount of expenses and maximum amount of generated revenue, when ever possible. A web hosting account is a vital part of running your internet business. Doesn’t it make sense to off-set the monthly hosting fee if you have the opportunity to receive affiliate commissions from the very company you are using? In many cases, just 9 or 10 sign-ups will cover your monthly hosting fee. With the variety of marketing tools you are presently using, it is very easy to promote your affiliate hosting site along with your other programs, with little effort or extra expense. If you have a list, use it. If you have joined several safe lists, use them. You’ve already paid your monthly, yearly (or lifetime) fee’s to join, anyway. Or write one more article or blog like I’m doing. It’s free advertising.

And don’t just stop promoting after you have your 10 sign-ups. If your marketing efforts are working, keep your daily or weekly ritual of promoting ongoing. Remember what I said, your objective in your business is to keep expenses to a minimum and generate the maximum amount of revenue. Who cares where your revenue is coming from… its revenue, especially, if it is passive revenue from the efforts of your referrals.

To maximum profits,

Work at Home Considerations

Home-based businesses have been around since the first cooks and seamstresses exchanged their products for a fresh chicken or a bag of grain. In this century, rapid advances in technology have changed the face of home businesses, expanding the options and making “home-work” easier, more profitable, and more satisfying than ever before.

But working from home also has its drawbacks. What are some of the considerations?

You may enjoy the flexibility of working at home and juggling work with children’s needs or other household tasks, but your customers are not so interested in sharing that joy with you. Establish some boundaries with family and friends. When you need to be accessible to customers and clients, set a work schedule, publicize it, and then stick to it. Use a "Do Not Disturb" sign if needed and provide a message pad at the door.

Do not answer the door when you're on the phone with a customer; do not allow children to answer your office phone; and do not try to conduct business where customers can overhear the television, the children, or the pets.

If you have only one phone, be sure your voice mail makes it clear to the caller that they have reached your business. Better yet, purchase a second phone or a phone with multi-line capability. If you use a cell phone to take business calls, remember that the distortions and poor reception that are mildly annoying in your personal life can be “deal-breakers” in business. Unless you are absolutely certain of exceptional clarity, invest in a land line and keep your customers happy.

Consider using an answering service if your business requires that someone always answer the phone. That way, you can literally be “open for business” around the clock.

If friends or family perceive you as a “stay-at-home” they may be quick to assume you have more free time and ask for extra favors. Learn to say no. Similarly, if someone calls you about business on a scheduled day off, don’t be afraid to tell them you will return their call when you are at work.

Since you’re in the comfort of your own home, you may be inclined to overlook health and safety risks. But an injury in your workplace can have a much greater effect then it would in a larger company where there are other employees to take up the load.

Take extra precautions with tools or equipment when you are on your own. Always have a safety plan in mind. If you work at a desk, don't stay seated for a long period of time. Get up and walk around from time to time and learn about proper support and stretching exercises for hands, wrists, neck and back.

Invest in a good chair and other appropriate furniture or equipment. Good chairs have all kinds of adjustments and settings -- height, back, and tilt. Look for desks with variable height work areas and consider a stand-up workstation for some tasks.

Working from home can be very satisfying. Create an office or workspace that is used exclusively for your business, one that you really enjoy walking into and that has everything you want in one area.

While there are tax deductions available for home-office use, you can’t claim them if the same area is used every evening for the kids’ homework. Review the rules for home-office deductions with a tax advisor or business consultant to be sure you are doing what you should to maximize your profitable home-based business.
